Daiwa Saltiga Travel SATR743MHFS Spinning Rod
$299.99
The SALTIGA SW TRAVEL rods have a Slim Profile with a Strong Backbone for many hard-fighting tropical species. Multi-piece travel rods that can hang with better fish are rare. The innovative V-Joints connect the rod pieces with a flexing joint that avoids flat spots in the bend. This feature cannot be found in any other rods. With both Conventional and Spinning Models, there is a travel rod to suit your needs. The blanks are finely wrapped with Fuji Tangle Free K Guides with tough, FazLite Rings, both components built for travel. A Compact Travel Case protects the rods from the bumps in the road. A Limited Lifetime Warranty stands behind the quality of materials and construction. If you are in the market for that rare travel rod that can take bigger salt water fish, look no further than the SALTIGA SW TRAVEL RODS, quality in a case.

Dimension of carrying case, June 2, 2026Posted By: Brad C
I have not used the rod yet, but my buying experience with fisherman?s world.net, as well as my first impression of the rod, are top knotch. I have been looking for a saltwater travel spinning rod for a while, and I got frustrated that I could never find the external dimensions of the carrying case for this Diawa rod. Everyone talked about how they liked it, and that it could be broken down into 3 pieces, but I couldn?t find any info that let me know if it would fit inside my checked suitcase on a flight. I finally just decided to bite the bullet and risk buying one.The overall length of the longest piece of the 3 rod sections is 36?, so if you can fit that diagonally inside your checked bag, you can take this rod on a trip without having to mess with it as an oversized carryon. If you want to take the rod inside the included carrying case, then the dimensions are 38 3/4? x 2? x 4 3/4?. Unfortunately, my suitcase is too small to fit the rod, so I would be forced to carry it as an oversized carryon and hope that the airlines all treat it as a specialty sporting equipment carryon and just let it pass with no additional fee. I know a lot of airlines do that, but you might run in to one that doesn?t. Also, an additional question I had was whether the reel seat on this rod was large enough to allow a Penn Battle 3 8000 to be mounted on it, and fortunately the answer was yes. Some of the larger 8000 and 10000 size reels have a larger reel foot and won?t fit on some rods, but this Diawa has the ability to take these larger reels. I will update my review once I get a chance to take the rod out and put it through the paces.
